One Less Tube…

Every week, the nurses experiment with Topher to see if he can handle room air by himself without his supplemental oxygen; and every week so far, he would only breathe on his own from 30 minutes to 2 hours.  Yesterday, he was off for at least 7 hours (he was off for 3, we were there for 4, hanging out to wait for Red White & Boom)!  I haven’t called for an update yet, but hopefully he did okay overnight.

Now all he has left in terms of tubing is his nasal-gastric (NG) tube.  He still has at least 4 sensors on him: oxygen, heart rate, respiratory rate, and temp probe.
